Spinach is a cold weather plant and is difficult to grown in the Aerogarden. Only the Strawberry Spinach species (McKenzie Seeds) appears to be compatible.[1]
Spinach is a compact green, loose-leaf plant that grows up to about 30cm tall. It is grown for its oval to triangular leaves, which can be eaten either raw or cooked. It is a cool-season plant. The leaves may be of three types: savoyed (which means crinkly), semi-savoyed (which means less crinkly) and smooth (which means not crinkly).

Tender enough to eat raw like spinach, or can of course be cooked up like greens. It grows very nicely in the AG, though there is a period where the plants all flop over before thickening up their stems and growing upright. - Edible Amaranth
- Malabar Spinach
- Mustard Spinach? [2]
- New Zealand Spinach
